It all started with a cap. Silky's founder, Donna Moten, developed this cap while pursing her license in Cosmetology over 30 years ago. The rest of the Silky line was developed around the materials and durability of this traditional haircare essential.

Silky is our best-selling product for a straightforward reason. It breathes, and it lasts forever. If you are used to sleeping in a satin bonnet or scarf, you know first hand that it can get a little warm under there. Our cap is so well-loved because of its light and natural moisture-wicking ability to keep sweat off the hair and scalp. Each hat is suited with durable elastic and a machine-sewn edge, helping it survive 10 to 15 years of machine washing and wear. Silky is Hypoallergenic
Due to the natural properties of silk, our products have a built-in resistance against dust mites and certain allergens. In other words, they do not contain synthetic ingredients that might cause an allergic reaction for people with sensitive skin. By nature, silk is non-allergenic and less likely to irritate the skin than other man-made products. Our silk is blended with rayon, which is made essentially from wood pulp. These two combined, plus 30 years of testing, make Silky the Cap a bedtime routine essential!
